As students deeply immersed in academia, we recognized the fragmented nature of traditional volunteering avenues, prompting us to create a platform that streamlines the volunteer experience and fosters a sense of community. Motivated by a belief in the transformative power of volunteering, we sought to empower individuals to contribute their unique skills for the greater good.

Volunteers frequently struggle with time limits, face ambiguous expectations, and worry about their safety and legitimacy. On the other hand, organizations struggle to reach a large pool of volunteers, suffer with ineffective communication, and find it difficult to screen and match volunteers. My goal is to create an intuitive platform that addresses these problems and guarantees a smooth and fruitful experience for organizations and volunteers alike.

This empathy map explores and depicts the feelings of Sandra who is a university student in her 3rd year that loves volunteering and meeting new people while gathering tons of experience in the process. This map also covers the problems she faces on her volunteering journey.

This platform has a simple flow. Starts with the user launching the platform, then the user has the option to either donate to the platform or view volunteering opportunities. If they choose to view the opportunities then they will select one and go through the requirements for that one they selected and check if they satisfy the requirements, in which they can volunteer or go back to browsing opportunities.
